Hello India – New album by Malaysian Tamil artiste ‘Sasi the Don’

Sasi the Don is currently getting ready for a milestone in his music career. The Advertising guru who became one of Asia’s ambassadors of Reggae music is set to release his 5th studio album titled ‘Hello India’ in Mumbai, India. If everything goes to plan it will launched on the 6th February, Bob Marley’s Birthday!

In his 14 years of being a Malaysian Indian artiste, Sasi has experienced success not only in Malaysia’s Tamil music industry but also in the nation’s mainstream music scene, working with Malay & International acts including Amy Search, Zainal Abidin, Anita Sarawak, Apache Indian, Dr.Alban, Maxi Priest and many more.

Hello India is Sasi’s first International album, released under the Universal Music India banner to the world. The album feature Sasi’s previous hit singles remixed and rearranged as well as several stomping brand new songs. Keeping to his roots, all songs in the album have been produced, mixed and mastered in Malaysia and set to an International standard courtesy of Universal Music Malaysia, his label for the past 2 years.

This is an introductory album for India and other South Asian Countries, “Reggae Over India” now thats a journey! Sasi the Don

The first single to be released from the album is “Island Queen,” where Sasi has worked with the legendary reggae Soul master “Maxi Priest”. The song is accompanied by a music video which was filmed in Colombo, Sri Lanka by SreeSonic & Swagadee, starring both Sasi & Maxi. The video can be viewed via youtube.

The album contains 14 tracks, in a variety of different languages including English, Tamil, Hindi & Malay. Sasi worked with his favourite producer D’Navigator aka Navin Kumar from Malaysia, who has been working with Sasi for the past 10 years.

A few days ago Sasi released the title track ‘Hello India,’ an English-Hindi number featuring upcoming Malaysian singer Chaman Jassal. Through the song Sasi pays homage to India whilst introducing the delights & positivity of his true love, reggae music. Have a listen below;
