There has been a great deal of interest for the upcoming Simbu starrer "Vaanam" since the audio launch was announced back in October 2010. Due to a few visa problems of some distinguised guests, the audio launch for the Tamil movie – which was to be held in London – was postponed to a later date. The date has now has been announced as March 21st 2011 but no word on the location, which is most likely to be in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The launch would have featured the release of ”Evandi Unna Pethaan”, a single performed by the star of the movie Silambarasan Simbu, and produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The track has been very popular since its release, with fans producing some amazing video mixes for the song. One such video was produced by TN productionz from Europe who created a highly addictive video with clips of other fans doing facial and dance movements via their webcams. This video has received over 126,000 views since its release! View it below.
"Kaun hai baap tera tera tera tera? Kiya jeena haraam mera mera mera mera!"
What does that mean we hear you ask? These are the Hindi lyrics to Evan Di Unna Pethaan. As the Tamil version of the song continues to grow across Southern India, a Hindi version has been recorded for Bollywood, and a music video for both versions is being shot. Simbu lends his voice to the song, making this his first experience singing in Hindi. The lyrics have been written by Shabeer Ahmed. Reports say that the video is being shot for a very impressive 1 Crore Rupees, and the producers have flown over 30 dancers from London!
Other Vaanam news hitting the headlines is the recent donation of 50,000 Indian Rupees by STR Silambarasan, Cloud Nine Movies & VTV Ganesh to Slum Dog Millionaire actress Rubina Ali. The actress’ home recently burnt down in Mumbai resulting in her losing not just her home, but awards, photographs and memorabilia from the success of the film. A further 21,000 Rupees was donated by the director of Venus.
Vaanam is a remake of the 2010 Telugu movie titled Veedam. The impressive cast includes Simbu, Bharath, Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj, Saranya & Sonia Agarwal. The Thamarai team wish all the best for the movie and look forward to its audio and film release.
