American entertainment news source Billboard.com announced recently that Universal Music will be handling SuperHeavy’s album in the United States and A&M will handle the rest of the world. No date has been set but the official press release mentioned the possibility of September. SuperHeavy fuses together heavy weights in the music scene including Mick Jagger, Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart, Joss stone, reggae artist Damien Marley and the "Maestro of Madras" AR Rahman to create a truly global sound. The bands name was inspired by the legendry boxer Muhammad Ali.
Its is also reported that on one of the songs Mick Jagger is singing in Urdu. He takes lead on Rahman’s song "Satyameva Jayate," which translates to "the truth alone triumphs." Rahman’s fans are excited about Superheavy as this will give Rahman an opportunity to reach a wider international audience than before. The composer recently posted the image above and the video below off SuperHeavy on his facebook page.
