Cyanide casting call

Barking MAD Productions is a fresh-thinking and contemporary creative production company sprung from an unrelenting focus on cinema and filmmaking. Innovatively using digital photography, video and new media technology, we seek to produce polished visual media that is both creatively distinct and commercially appealing.

Dually inspired by their East London roots and a shared love of film, Barking MAD founders Kuvera and Nelson initially conceptualised the company as a base for shooting and distributing their own short films. Achieving instant success with their very first project, the duo’s pilot production was televised and received substantial praise from the reviewing panel. Other independent film work includes a modern re-working of ‘Grease’ and the fictional piece ‘A Bag of Sugar’ – which experiments with genres and takes a satirical look at contemporary society.

Barking MAD’S most recent film Still Life has been critically acclaimed and officially selected for several prestigious film festivals including the British Urban Film Festival, Vimbam Film Festival and London Short Film Festival. Check out the trailer for Still Life below.

Cyanide

Outline: A Sri Lankan Tamil immigrant living in London is forced to confront his violent past by an anonymous woman who has kidnapped his 12-year-old daughter. Cast requirements: Sri Lankan females aged 18 and above. Previous acting experience not essential but an interest in drama and film is a must. Expenses will be covered and all actors will receive a DVD copy of the completed film. Auditions to be held in ULU, Malet Street on the weekend of the 28th and 29th November. Please contact Nelson or Kuvera Sivalingam (Directors) or Jayshree Viswanathan (Producer) at info@barking-mad.tv if you are interested.
