Track of the Week #23

This week’s Track of the Week is sure to perk you up on this Monday morning – which, here in the UK, is grey and miserable despite the clocks switching to ‘British Summer Time’!

The track is from upcoming Tamil film "Soodhu Kavvum" starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sanchita Shetty in the lead roles. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the music has been handled by Santhosh Narayanan. The soundtrack has some great numbers, including "Sa Ga" with it’s beautiful strings arrangement, but our chosen track is "Mama Douser".

This upbeat number is likely to leave you wanting to sit in a fancy American jazz club sipping on cocktails and smoking cigars (if you’re into that kind of thing!). The vocals by Andrea Jeremiah are perfect; she provides an energetic performance throughout the song, even though all she sings is just one sentence throughout, along with some scatting!
