The Review Raja

Introducing the ReviewRaja. We clicked on his video last week as the branding caught our attention but we didn’t expect this. A fan of Tamil movies, his reviews are slowly gaining thousands of followers across the globe. We caught up with the ReviewRaja for a quick interview.

1. When did you start to watch Tamil films? I started watching Tamil Films approximately one year ago when a few of my friends introduced me to Tamil Cinema.

2. Who is your favourite actor and actress from Kollywood? To be honest I am a big fan of multiple actors and actresses which include: Ajith, Vijay, Suriya, Vikram, Jeeva, Karthii, Rajinitkanth, Kamal Hassan, Dhanush, and Simbu. When it comes to actresses I love the acting of Asin as well as Trisha, Nayanthara, and Amy Jackson!

3. What was your favourite film from 2012? So far Nanban has been my favourite film!

4. Which 2012 film are you looking forward to watching? I can’t wait to watch Billa 2, Vishwaroopam and Thupaki!

5. Why review Kollywood and not Bollywood? I was first introduced to Kollywood and fell in love with how in tune the films are with the Tamil culture which ultimately got me hooked on Tamil Cinema!

6. A little bit about yourself – Where are you from? What do you do? I’m a 24 yr old from the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada. I grew up in a small town in Ontario and have always been an avid video goer. I am currently working as a marketing consultant and have always loved the creative aspects of life.

Throughout University I began to dive into foreign films as my father was conducting a lot of business in India. I then watched a few Tamil films with some friends and recently I was looking for movie reviews when I realized there were no quality reviews from which I could get a strong understanding of the films I wanted to watch.  Based on this I decided I wanted to give my personal insight into Tamil Cinema to help show the world how great these films are!

The question we failed to ask was whether ReviewRaja has a Tamil friend helping him with the Tamil pronunciations! Keep up the great work. We look forward to many more of his reviews and wish him luck on the journey to promote Tamil cinema to the world. A journey which we will happily support.
