A play with a difference

"Tanika’s Journey" is a play that tells the story of a young Sri Lankan girl who escapes from the aftermath of a grim and bloody war and embarks on a dangerous journey, against all odds. The play is a production by the "Deafinitely Theatre", who use British Sign Language (BSL) as the leading language in all their work. With the aim of bridging the gap between Deaf and hearing worlds, the Deafinitely Theatre’s "Tanika’s Journey" is a visually stunning and imaginative piece of storytelling.

The play will be running at London’s Southwark Playhouse until the 20th of October 2012, and if you head over on any day between Wednesday and Saturday, restaurant "Hop and Spice" will have a pop-up stall where you can get a plate of Sri Lankan curry and Sri Lankan Beer!
