Ashanti OMkar in movieScope magazine!

Ashanti OMkar is a British Asian media persona who works with a number of renowned media outlets including the BBC, Cineworld Cinemas, and Galatta Magazine. She is no stranger to us here at Thamarai, and we recently featured her in a moving interview about her experience with domestic violence.

Recently, Ashanti was featured on the cover of movieScope magazine [pictured above – Ashanti is in the bottom right corner], in an issue that Women in Film. Ashanti worked on a piece looking at women in Indian cinema, in which she featured many well-known stars such as Sridevi, Aishwarya Rai, Asin and Vidya Balan. Read more about the issue here. 

The Women in Film issue was published on International Women’s Day (March 8th), and the 64-page issue was dedicated to celebrating the achievments of women in the film industry all over the world.
