TAP – The Tamil Association of Professionals are delighted to be hosting Prof. Kala Vairavamoorthy, internationally renowned Chartered Environmental Engineer, water expert and TEDx speaker, at their next event on Thursday, 26 April 2018.

Prof. Kala is the Executive Director of the International Water Association (IWA) and leads water scientists and practitioners based in over 130 countries towards providing sustainable water solutions for our world.

Prof. Kala will be sharing his journey that has led him to be one of the world’s leading water specialists. He will also discuss the key principles of water management, current challenges facing the international community, the impacts of culture and politics on his work and his vision for the future. He will also cover his recent experiences of taking his expertise back to countries in the east including Sri Lanka.

Prof. Kala has a MSc and PhD in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London and is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK). In addition to leading the IWA and sitting on international technical and scientific committees, he is a also a tenured professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida and Founding Dean of the Patel College of Global Sustainability in the USA.
