"The Day That River Ran Red" is a short documentary that has been written and directed by Shanjey Kumar Perumal from Malaysia. The film tells the tale of an ordinary Tamil man who became a national hero overnight.
The film has been beautifully-shot, with stunning visuals and performances based on Kathakali, a theatrical dance form originating in Kerala, South India. "The Day That River Ran Red" just received the Audience Choice Award at the Malaysian Shorts 2013, and it can be viewed below:
