This week's Track of the Week is from the latest romantic comedy Telugu film "Jabardasth" starring South Indian actor Siddharth- who has made waves in Kollywood and Bollywood, as well as the cute Samantha Prabhu. The film is directed by Nandini Reddy with music taken care by Tollywood's leading Music Director Thaman. S. The film will be dubbed in Tamil as "Dum Dum Pee Pee" which is associated to the sounds of a Thavil, a South Indian percussion mostly played at weddings.

 

The song I have chosen is called "Allah Allah" which is a foot-tapping, Qawwali-style song sung by the young Ranjith, Naveen Madhav and Shreya Ghoshal.

 

Shreya Ghoshal is in charge of the chorus throughout the track, with Ranjith and Naveen adding their part in various places. It is quite common with Thaman's tracks where he puts the two male singers together in one song, but you really can't complain as both their voices blend well with each other. Thaman has come up with an amazing composition for this track and it is very refreshing to listen to.
